Content rights & AI policy

Personalization only works when customers have permission to use what they submit. This draft explains that responsibility and how AI-assisted creation fits in.

Draft updated July 17, 2026

Your responsibility for submissions

You must own or have all permissions needed for every photo, name, likeness, logo, slogan, illustration, trademark, and other material you submit. Permission may be required from the photographer, artist, brand owner, team, employer, or person shown. Buying a physical item or finding an image online does not necessarily grant reproduction rights.

Permission to create and fulfill

You retain the rights you already hold in submitted content. By submitting it, you give Player Originals and its service providers a limited permission to host, copy, transform, review, generate previews from, manufacture, and deliver the requested design, and to provide related security and support. This permission lasts only as reasonably needed for those purposes and legal or recordkeeping requirements.

We will not use a customer’s personalized design in public marketing without separate permission.

AI-assisted output

The creation experience may use automated and generative-AI tools. Output can be imperfect, produce unexpected details, or resemble themes and elements seen elsewhere. We do not promise that output is unique, protectable, or free from every third-party claim. Customers must review names, numbers, faces, anatomy, spelling, and other important details before approval.

Rights in AI-assisted output can vary by jurisdiction and by the amount of human authorship involved. This policy does not transfer rights that Player Originals does not have or guarantee copyright or trademark protection.

Content we may reject

We may pause, remove, or refuse content that we reasonably believe:

  • infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
  • is unlawful, threatening, exploitative, hateful, or sexually explicit;
  • depicts or promotes abuse, dangerous wrongdoing, or non-consensual imagery;
  • misleadingly suggests endorsement by a person, team, brand, or organization;
  • contains malware, hidden harmful content, or attempts to evade safeguards; or
  • cannot be produced reliably or is inconsistent with partner requirements.

Review does not mean we have verified ownership or legality. Customers remain responsible for their submissions.

People, teams, and brands

Do not submit a private person’s image without their permission. Celebrity, athlete, school, league, team, sponsor, and brand content may be protected even when it appears publicly online. Player Originals does not grant a license to those rights and may request evidence of authorization.

Reporting a concern

A rights owner should use the support contact on this page and identify the work, the disputed design or page, their relationship to the rights, and reliable contact information. A formal notice procedure will be published before public customer storefronts or checkout are enabled.
